I like BBQ sauce. What I don’t like is store bought BBQ sauce. I don’t know what’s really in it, and it more or less tastes the same. I will make some exceptions however, if I am in Kansas City and I’m buying jars of sauce that are made in the place I’m buying them at. Of course right now, I can’t remember the name of the place, or the sauce! Oh well.

I digress.

I have a habit of taking meat out of the freezer and choosing a recipe around the meat. Today was chicken. But I wanted to make BBQ chicken. So I set out to find a delicious sauce that was both tasty and easy to make. Between allrecipes.com and Yummly, I was confident that I would find something.

And I did!

However, I lacked red wine vinegar. All I have is white distilled vinegar. So I did some research as to whether I could substitute the two. After all was said and done, I said screw it and did it anyway. And my results were delicious! I added a couple things, changed a couple things, and made it mine.

The best part? You can throw it all in the blender and you’re good to go! Or, if you wanted to heat it up on the stove, you can do that too! However, if you’re using it as a marinade before cooking, and you want to heat it over the stove, be sure to cool it down to room temperature before you pour it over raw meat. I just marinated my chicken with the sauce straight from the blender.

In hindsight, I should have taken a photo of it in the blender. But alas, I did not. Oh well!
